1.85M YouTube Subscribers & Counting: Shogo Brings Let’s ask Shogo to Fujikiya

A Special Visit: Shogo from Let’s ask Shogo Filmed at Fujikiya

We are excited to share that Shogo, the creator of the popular YouTube channel Let’s ask Shogo with over 1.85 million subscribers, recently visited Fujikiya in Ueno for a filming session✨.

◆ Who is Shogo?

Born in Kyoto and raised in Hiroshima, Shogo spent several years in Michigan, USA, and studied Mandarin at Peking University in Beijing. With this international background, he is now based in Kyoto, dedicating himself to sharing Japanese traditions with the world.
On his channel Let’s ask Shogo, he introduces:

The history and culture of the samurai and katana
Traditional martial arts and budo techniques
The beauty of kimono and men’s fashion
Tea ceremony, Noh theatre, shakuhachi, and other cultural arts

What makes his channel especially unique is that he explains everything in English, making Japanese culture accessible to audiences all around the world.

◆ Filming at Fujikiya

During his visit, Shogo explored our collection of men’s kimono and yukata while filming. We had the chance to talk about the philosophy behind Fujikiya: bringing kimono into everyday life, and creating a new way for men to enjoy traditional clothing in modern times.
The filming session was both inspiring and exciting, and we can’t wait to see how Fujikiya will be featured on his channel.

◆ Our Impressions

Meeting Shogo in person was a true inspiration for all of our staff.
His passion for transmitting Japanese culture to the next generation—and to people worldwide—resonates deeply with Fujikiya’s mission. We are reminded once again that kimono is not only a traditional garment, but also a powerful medium to connect people across borders.

◆ Stay Tuned!

We sincerely thank Shogo for visiting Fujikiya for filming.
The video will be uploaded soon on his YouTube channel, so please don’t miss it!
